Current Playlist #1

Music has a place in my life.
I think it has a special place for everyone, right?
I mean I don't see life without music. It would just feel so empty.
This is why I thought I would share the songs I listen to on a daily basis. I have also decided to add a ritual. Change my playlist every Monday night.
It's Monday night.
Time to introduce my playlist.

Voila ! Hope you enjoy.

I just love listening to music while i'm taking my shower or just chilling in my dorm. It helps me get in a good mood. Especially when I am on my own.

Every week there will be some songs that you will be seeing again in the playlist because I just love the song that much.

Anyway.

Shower Time which means... Music Time.

Sunday Brunch At Aubaine

I really like the sophisticated interiors in Aubaine. It reminds me of something you would find hidden in the south of France.

We were on the lookout for a good place to have brunch and I had already been to The Riding House Cafe (which is really good!) but we wanted to try something new. So we thought hey why not Aubaine!?

Off we went to Aubaine on High Street Kensington on a sunny Sunday !

My mom got Eggs Royal.

Lil sister got her Caesar Salad.

I got a Croque Madame.

It was some real good stuff and there is something so fun and exciting about brunch. I mean the whole not eating your usual breakfast and going out to get something different is exciting, right ? I hope I don't sound like some food obsessed weirdo. After all, I am half Singaporean. In Singapore we don't kid around with food.

Eating is a national sport.

Like we eat all day.

No kidding.

Current Make-Up Favourites

As I am moving into Uni very very soon I had to sort out a lot of  my stuff. One of them was make-up.

While sorting it out, I realised I kept things I didn't like or hardly ever wore. So out those buddies went!

Over these past few weeks I have been going back to a few items (some of them I might even use forever)!

Check out my overflowing make-up bag. These are (almost) all the make-up items I will be bringing with me to Uni! I definitely don't have as much make-up as some beauty gurus and I would not consider myself a beauty guru at all. I just like some good make-up that can help me look good with a few touches of this and that.

Back to my current favourites.
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Orchid Crush. I have a love-hate relationship with this buddy. But i'm back in the 'I friggin love you' zone. I've been wearing this practically everyday! It is quite a sheer pink with quite a bit of color but somehow I just really like the way it looks on my lips and it keeps them moisturised which is a bonus.

Softlips French Vanilla. First reaction when I tried it - yum. This smells like something I would eat. It has a little mentholatum in there which gives you a little fresh tingle when you apply it on your lips. It also has SPF20 in there which is great to protect your lips from the sun. Most of all, it moisturises your lips. That's what is most important right?

MaxFactor False Lash Effect. This lil buddy has had its fair share of reviews and people saying this is the best drugstore mascara ever. I wasn't exactly convinced at first but I am now a total convert and understand why people swear by this. It gives your lashes a very natural curl without them looking clumpy!

L'Oreal Super Liner Luminizer in Black Amethyst. This. If I were to go on a desert island and was given the choice to choose only one make-up product then it will have to be this one. It makes me look awake. It gives me a lot more confidence (which is weird) and it makes my lashes fuller. Win, win, win.

Last but not least, Revlon Red Super Lustrous Lipstick. This has an amazing staying power. I have already talked about it in my Top 5 Summer Must-Haves: Beauty Edit so check that out to know more about this bargain!

What are your current make-up favourites !? Comment below ! I love finding new products :)

The Bread Stall Sandwich

I have been living off Northcote Road for the past year and just when it was time for me to say bye I made a new discovery.

My mom would always buy bread from this stall and everyday on my way to school I would pass by it and smell everything from fresh pain au chocolat to cupcakes to bread. I would also always see their wide variety of sandwiches and think 'man, I wish this stall could be next to my school'.

But, I never tried it.

And then, one day while the movers were around and it was time for lunch I walked down the road, passed in front of the bread stall... and got a sandwich. Heck yes I did. And it was the best sandwich I had ever had. You would think that it isn't that hard to make a good sandwich (I would think that) and it isn't. You just need those few quality ingredients to create the best texture and flavour in your mouth.

The sandwich consisted of speck, tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala and salad.

What really made the difference,in my opinion, was the bread. It was so light, yet a little crunchy on the top (melted cheddar I believe). The texture was kind of like a brioche except that the outside was crunchier and the bread itself is salty.

I had a picture my sister took of me eating this lil buddy but mah face was just a little too freaky and eh... alright then I'll show it to you.

Freaky huh? With the rather lifeless hair and boxes in the background.. The only thing looking good on this picture is the sandwich.

You can only find the Bread Stall on Northcote Road in Clapham. It is worth going though! Lots of nice little shops, Jamie Oliver has his store Recipease 2 mins away and of course there is the common !

What I Wore

So it's the morning of VFNO and I'm all excited about it.
I think about a transitional day to night outfit, about the places I want to go to... bref, I am in a jumping-up-and-down mood.
Little did I know, a few hours before it was time to meet up with C, I couldn't leave the hotel room cause my mom was still in our old house with the cleaners and I with my sister.
Dun-dun dun.
I was shattered. Pissed.
What do you do in a hotel room, with your little sister and nothing to do... WHAT DO YOU DO!?

Jacket:Zara, Dress:H&M, Shoes:Converse

Well you take OOTD pictures of course!

Night ended with us going out for dinner at The Med Kitchen which i'm sorry to say was not too good! The chips were yumerz though.

How To Make Your Own Sushi

Whenever my momma heads to Atariya the household goes bonkers cause we all know that means... it's sushi night!

As complicated as it looks like to make sushi, it really isn't.

First, you need the rice. Preferably sushi rice to which you add mirin sauce. Then, cut slices of avocado and cucumber. Take the japanese mayonnaise and soya sauce out. Lay your sashimi on a plate and last but not least cut the seaweed in squares.

Easy peezy lemon squeezy. Told ya.

Once everything is laid out on the table - dig in.

With a little spoon spread out a bit of the rice on a sheet of seaweed.

Then choose your favorite raw fish(mine are salmon, fatty tuna and yellowtail!)and dunk it in soya sauce.

Top it up with some avocado or cucumber (both if you like), squeeze out some japanese mayonnaise and finish it off with salmon roe.

Oh. My. Goodness. It just melts in your mouth.

I am salivating at these pictures.

This stuff is easy to do and tasty! Next time you feel like having take-away sushi why not try making your own? Just saying...

(There are Atariya food stores a little everywhere in London. It is definitely worth driving the extra mile to get your sashimi there. It's the best (even Gordon Ramsay approves!)

A Summer's Day Outfit

I must admit that these pictures were taken a month ago... Whoopsies. Bad blogger.
It was one of those days when the sun was out and I was in a jolly-jumping-around-taking-pictures mood.
My sister agreed on me taking pictures of her (which she usually does not like ) and she agreed on taking pictures of me.
First up, my little sister, future historian/dancer/designer. She has all the qualities to be those three things. Scary!

She was really proud of her whole outfit on that day because she had chosen it all on her own.

She even modelled at a pay machine.

And then it was my turn...

I don't know if you know this but I am not photogenic at all. But anyway, today I wanted to share my outfit with y'all. Because I am just a little obsessed with these shorts!

The bag is a favorite of mine too. I actually got it at Zara for 40pounds which is fairly cheap for a Zara bag I find!

Note: Extra fine, life-less hair in the wind look like nothing. Sigh.

Top,Shorts and Bag - Zara

Tadaa. My first OOTD post. I wish I could do so much more... But I just don't have someone that can take pictures of me apart from my 10-year old sister (who fyi took all of these pictures!).

I hope you all enjoyed and I am going to tuck in bed now and have a good night's sleep before the movers come back for day dos of moving out... Oh joy!
